Jean Mckeand

Jean McKeand, 86, of Plainfield, passed away Thursday, March 30th, 2023. She was born December 7th, 1936 in Indianapolis to her parents Hallie D. and Beulah (McKinney) McKeand. She was a resident of Indianapolis for most of her life.

Jean is survived by her brother, Harold D. McKeand of Indianapolis; one niece, Sally Pendergrass; and six nephews: Mark, Jeff, and Mike McKeand, Scott and Ned Phillips, and Harold Lee McKeand. Jean is preceded in death by both of her parents; one sister, Janet Phillips; and one brother, Vernon "Jake" McKeand.

Jean was a 1956 graduate of Ben Davis High School and spent two years at Indiana Business School. She was a Tool Design Secretary at Allison Transmission for 36 years before retiring in 1992. Jean attended Valley Mills Christian Church. She enjoyed water sports and boating. Jean loved to travel and spend time with her family.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 11 am to 12 pm (noon) on Monday, April 10th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 12 pm (noon) following visitation at the funeral home. Jean will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
