James Wilson

James R. Wilson, 86, of West Newton, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his home . He was born August 5, 1930 in Elmwood, OH to Coy and Clara (Pelley) Wilson. He married Evelyn E. (Kesler) Wilson on August 1, 1999.

James lived in West Newton most of his life. He was the owner/operator of Wilson's Well Drilling in Camby for 50 years. He attended both West Newton Worship and Youth Center in West Newton and Way of the Cross Church in Martinsville, IN. He was a member of the West Newton Masonic Lodge #707 and was very involved in Blue Grass and Gospel music. He also crafted banjos and mandolins, enjoyed hunting, and going fishing.

James is survived by his wife, Evelyn E. (Kesler) Ramsey Wilson of West Newton; 4 children: Bud (Loretta) Wilson of Camby, Russell (Linda) Wilson of Camby, Kathy Hansel of West Newton and Carol (Bill) Medsker of TN; 3 step children: Jeffrey (Terry) Ramsey of Camby, Donnie Ramsey of Indianapolis and Randy (Kelly) Ramsey of Camby; 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Sam Wilson, Larry Wilson and David Wilson; 4 sisters: Frances Wilson, Gloria Hanson, Nellie Pennington and Barbara Weddle. James is also preceded in death by his previous spouse, Penny Wilson; parents: Coy and Clara Wilson and sister, Irene Payton.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at West Newton Worship and Youth Center, 7860 South Mooresville Rd., West Newton, IN 46113. Pastor Tony Cannon will officiate the Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday at the church at 1 p.m. James will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
