James R. Ransome, 65, Mooresville, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011 in Community Hospital South. He was born on December 20, 1945 in Indianapolis to James A. and Kathleen (Abele) Ransome, both deceased. He married Judy (Fugitt) Ransome on March 27, 1970. Jim was a current resident of Mooresville for the last 40 years and previously Monrovia for 10 years. He was currently doing Environmental Testing for Q.D.S. in Indianapolis for the last 10 years and previously for IPALCO for 35 years where he retired in 2001. He loved driving the athletic team bus for Mooresville and Monrovia and had been very active in Boys and Girls youth athletics, served on Mooresville Revitalization Committee and also served on Mooresville Park Board. He is survived by his wife Judy Ransome of Mooresville; 6 children: Kristi (Chris) Deal of Plainfield, Kaci (Byron) Hennessy of Greenwood, Katie (Tony) DeFur of Mooresville, Kori (Clint) Swalls of Avon, Cody Ransome of Exeter NH and Kaylee Ransome of Mooresville; 7 grandchildren; 1 sister Sue Starr of FL. Visitation will be 3-8pm, Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center (Next to Jones Family Mortuary) and also 1 hour prior to the service. Funeral serices will be at 10am, Wednesday, February 23, 2011 also at Jones Crossing Banquet Center with Pastor Jim Taylor officiating. Jim will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery.
