James Edward "Eddie" Baker Jr., 56 of Monrovia, IN passed away Saturday, April 28, 2007. He was born October 2, 1950 in Beech Grove, IN to James E. Baker Sr. and Carole (Antrim) Baker. James married Regena K. (Bennett) Baker on December 15, 1973. He has lived in Monrovia for 34 years and in Mooresville for 22 years. James was a 1969 Graduate of Mooresville High School and also trained for Automotive Wheel Repair and Track Equipment Repair. He was an Army Veteran. He was a Deacon and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Hall, IN, member of the Teamsters Union Local 135, and from 1980-1985 he and his wife, Regena were Foster Parents for Morgan County. He loved fishing, hunting, being outdoors, fixing up old cars and trucks, and "He loved his wife and children with all his heart." "With love at first sight on July 4, 1969 he had his first date with Regena and they were married 33 1/2 years." He was also a Warehouse worker for Sysco Foods of Indianapolis for 31 years, retiring in 2003. Previously, he worked at DX Gas Station in Mooresville from 1968-1970 at his first job. James Jr. was survived by his Wife, Regena K. (Bennett) of Monrovia, IN; 1 Son, Brian Edward Baker of Avon, IN; 1 Daughter, Holly Suzanne Baker of Monrovia, IN; God Daughter, Crystal Dorothy Parker of IL; God Son, Timothy Paul Hanson of Iowa; Mother, Carole (Antrim) Baker of Cloverdale, IN; Father, James E. Baker Sr. of Mooresville, IN; 3 Brothers: Donald Baker of Martinsville, IN, Richard Baker Sr. of Camby, IN, and Jack Baker of Cloverdale, IN; 2 Sisters, Nancy Sichting of Greenwood, IN and Kathie Wampner of Mooresville, IN; Son in Law of Ralph (Deceased) and Marie (Curtis) Bennett of Monrovia, IN. Calling hours for James Jr. will be from 3-8pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Jones Family Mortuary. The funeral will be at 11:00am, Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church at Hall, IN. Stanley Hicks will be officiating the service. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Hall, IN. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
