James Johnson

James N. Johnson, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2018. He was born to William Newton Johnson and Lena Alice Caldwell on February 22, 1940 in Indianapolis. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1959. He married Nancy L. (Brown) Johnson on May 1, 1988.

James is survived by two loving children, Steve (Donna) Johnson of Indianapolis and Terri Curtiss of FL; four loving grandchildren, Stephanie and Christopher Johnson and Sean and David Curtiss; two brothers; and two sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy L. (Brown) Johnson; previous spouse, Sue Karen McMullin; and a son, Michael James Johnson.

Before retiring in 2004, James was a Tool, Die and Gage Maker for Navistar International in Indianapolis for 34 years. He was a member of Valley Mills Christian Church. He enjoyed all sports.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. on Monday, October 29th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville with Pastors Bob Johnson and Bob Beltz officiating James's celebration of life service at 12 p.m. James will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Greenwood Cemetery.
