James Wm. "Bill" Harris

James Wm. "Bill" Harris age 92, passed away Tuesday, December 16th, 2025. He was born in Muncie, Indiana to James E. Harris and Amy L. Morris Harris, who have preceded him in death.

He graduated from Eaton, IN High School and Ball State Teachers College, with a Bachelors degree in Language Arts and Chemistry. He serviced as an Intercept Director in the Air Force and retired from the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Nina L. Loughmiller Harris; his sister, Marilyn Beyer; and a grandson, James Eric Saferight.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda F. Towner Harris, daughters, Lisa M. (Mark) Mock, Cynthia L. (Jim) Saferight, and Lynn A. (Mark) Pike, step-daughters Cynthia Coram, and Stacia (Bob) Zloty. Also, brothers Thomas (Sharon) Harris, & John (Joan Hostetler) Harris and brother-in-law Delbert Beyer. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, December 22nd and from 11 am to 12 pm on Tuesday, December 23rd at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 12 pm following visitation on Tuesday, December 23rd at the funeral home. Bill will be laid to rest at Brooklyn Cemetery in Brooklyn, Indiana.
