James Harless

James D. Harless, 92, of Camby, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was born to John R. and Maude (Lane) Harless on August 21, 1924 in Lee County, VA. He married Nellie (Shatto) Harless on August 15, 1954.

James worked as a Heating and Cooling Technician for Dison Heating and Cooling in Indianapolis for 25 years, retiring in 1986. Previously, he worked for Hall-Neil Furnace Company in Indianapolis for 18 years. He enjoyed gardening and giving produce from his garden to his neighbors. He also raised cattle and horses.

James is survived by four loving children, Larry Robbins of VA, Jay Harless of Camby, Janice Harless of VA and Linda Worland of Mooresville; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Lee Harless of VA; and a sister, Judy Pugh of VA. He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife; a son, Ronald Robbins; and several siblings.

Pastor Billy Gott will officiate James's celebration of life graveside service at 11:20 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017 at West Newton Cemetery in Indianapolis, where James will be laid to rest.
