James Chestnut

James V. Chestnut, 78 years of age passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 in Tampa, FL. He was born November 27, 1931 in Elnora, IN to the late Firman L. and Fautella (Lavely) Chestnut. James married the late Sara B. (Vowell) Chestnut on July 6, 1963. He lived in Pendleton, IN for 5 years, Camby, IN for 41 years, and in Elnora, IN for 32 years. He was a 1950 Elnora High School Graduate and was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. James was a member of Camby Community Church, 50 year member of the Elnora American Legion, and a member of the Elnora Masonic Lodge. Before retiring in 1987, he was an Air Traffic Control Specialist for F.A.A. in Indianapolis, IN for 30 years. James V. Chestnut is survived by 1 Son, Kevin D. (Jennifer) Chestnut of Pendleton, IN; 1 Daughter, Jill A. (Jeff) Stuckey of Somerville, OH; 3 Grandchildren: Jacob Chestnut and Austin and Eli Stuckey; and 2 Sisters, Evelyn Bowens and Janet Voger. He is also preceded in death by Parents, Wife, and 1 Brother, Norman Chestnut. Calling hours for James will be from 4-8pm, Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN and 4-8pm, Friday March 5, 2010 at Poindexter-Hall & McClure Funeral Home in Odon, IN. The funeral service will be at 10am, Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Poindexter-Hall & McClure Funeral Home in Odon, IN with Charles Paxton to officiate. James will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Odon, IN. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
