Iris Pritchard

Iris Pritchard passed away at home on Thursday, August 13, 2015. She was born on August 8, 1931, the daughter of Marvin and Stella Keltner. She was the wife of Howard Pritchard whom she married July 30, 1950. She was the mother of Erin Frew of Mooresville, Indiana and Janet George of Greensburg, Kentucky. A life long resident of Mooresville she graduated from Mooresville High School in 1949 as the Valedictorian of her class. While still in school she worked part time for Hayes Drug Store and later for the Mooresville Times. After graduation she became employed with Citizens Bank as a Teller and in 1952 she was hired by Bridgeport Brass Company as a Secretary in their Engineering Department and held this position until the birth of Erin, her first daughter, in 1955. After Erin and Jan became school age she was hired as Church Secretary at First Christian Church in Mooresville, a job she held for 31 years until she retired in 1995. Iris is survived by her husband, daughters, three granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren. Family and friends may gather 4-8 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary. Pastor Charles Paxton will officiate the service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Iris will be laid to rest in Center Valley Cemetery.
