Ida Stephens

Ida Mae Stephens, 76, of Plainfield, IN, died on October 6, 2011. She was born to Finis & Florence (Goodin) Pike on August 7, 1935 in Columbia, KY. She married James E. Stephens on June 12, 1949. She was a Homemaker. She lived in Indianapolis, IN most of her life and 14 years in her birthplace of Columbia, KY. She was a member of Camby Community Church and West Newton Order of the Eastern Star. She loved writing poems. She is survived by her husband, James E. Stephens of Plainfield, IN; 2 children, Gerald E. (Pamela) Stephens of Sarasota, FL & Sandra K. (Jack) Stackman of Plainfield, IN; 4 Grandchildren, Brian Joseph Stephens, Deidra Roberts, Andrea Martin & Jackie Stackman; 1 great grandaughter, Leah Pamela Martin; 1 brother, Lonnie Pike; 3 sisters, Shirley Stephens, Dorothy Fischer & Madeline Lincoln. Ida Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Finis & Florence (Goodin) Pike; 3 sisters, Evelyn Knap, Nellie States & Brenda Pike and 1 brother, Morris Pike. Calling will be from 3-7pm, Sunday, October 9, 2011 and from 9-10am, Monday, October 10, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary. Charles Paxton will officiate the 10am funeral service on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary. Ida Mae will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield, IN.
