It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Howard Lee Busbee, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on October 22, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on August 14, 1945, in Mooresville, to his parents George Eben and Lola Ethelen (Baldwin) Busbee, Howard lived a life rich with love, laughter, and devoted service to those around him.

Howard dedicated his career to the automotive industry, working as a Collision Repair Technician at esteemed establishments such as Kenworth Trucking, Goodrich Chevrolet in Martinsville, and Mooresville Paint and Body. For the past decade, he graced the Lowes department store with his kind spirit and dedication. Howard embraced life with a passion for sprint car racing, a fierce love for all animals-especially cats, where they always had a safe home-and an unwavering enthusiasm for sports. A true fan of basketball and football, he proudly cheered for his cherished Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Fever teams.

Howard took immense joy in the simple pleasures of spending time with family. He was regarded as a strong man, often described as a teddy bear with a soft heart. His infectious laughter and playful humor made him a favorite among friends and family alike, and he possessed a mischievous spirit that brightened even the dullest of days.

Howard is survived by his daughter Lora Walker (Scott) of Camby; three cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn Brothers (Ryne), Matt Walker (Natalie), and Emily Walker; and three great-grandchildren who brought him boundless joy. He also leaves behind his siblings, Phyllis Wainscott, Janice Payne (Jay), Sarah Skinner, and Keith Busbee, along with several nieces and nephews who will carry forward his legacy of love.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his brother, Larry Busbee; and four sisters: Sharon Johnson, Rita Lundy, Linda Igney, and Sheryl Jeffries.
