Charles "Bud" Pugh

Charles "Bud" Pugh, 74, of Mooresville, passed away Sunday, December 22nd, 2024. He was born April 4th, 1950 in Pennington Gap, Virginia to his parents Samuel Chester Pugh and Sarrah Thelma (Christian) Hammons. He married Jo (Vollmer) Pugh on June 29th, 1974, spending 50 beautiful years together.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Jo Pugh of Mooresville; one brother, Samuel Lee Pugh (Julie) of Mooresville; one sister, Shelby Jean Williamson (Rod) of Franklin; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. Bud is preceded in death by both of his parents.

Bud was a semi-truck driver for Indiana Gratings in Martinsville, where he worked for several years before retiring in 2012. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at Fred's Frozen Foods and also worked at Furrows Building Materials as a Class A semi driver. Bud earned the "Driver of the Year" award multiple times at both of his previous employers.

He was a dedicated member of Five Points Baptist Church in Mooresville and was a founding member of the Best Friends Car Club. An avid muscle car trader, Bud owned several cars throughout the years. He was loved by all who knew him.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, December 29th and from 10 to 11am on Monday, December 30th at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am following visitation on Monday, December 30th at the funeral home. Bud will be laid to rest at Mooresville Cemetery in Mooresville.
