Harlan Northern

Harlan William (Jim) Northern, 83 of Indianapolis, IN passed away Monday, October 1, 2007. He was born February 23, 1924 in Martinsville, IN to to the late Charles Wesley Northern and the late Bertha Mae (Warren) Northern. He married Wanita (Searcy) Northern on June 17, 1942. Harlan has lived in Indianapolis, IN for 34 years and in Martinsville, IN for 49 years. He attended the Pilgrim Chapel in Indianapolis, IN and enjoyed cutting firewood, coon hunting, and fishing. Before retiring in 1987, he was a Equipment Operator for Waverly Paving in Waverly, IN for 35 years. After retirement, he worked for Dean Brother Pump in Indianapolis, IN for 8 years. Harlan is survived by his Wife, Wanita (Searcy) Northern of Indianapolis, IN; 7 Children: Darlene Wilson, Gene Northern, Maurice Northern, Robert Northern, Virginia Woods, Rebecca Hill, and Joyce Northern; 13 Grandchildren and Several Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Inez Ellis and Iona Martin. Calling hours for Harlan will be from 4-8pm, Thursday, October 4, 2007 with the funeral beginning at 10:00am, Friday, October 5, 2007 both held at Jones Family Mortuary. John Bigger will be officiating the service and Harlan will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant at Hall.
