Gwendolyn Cassidy

Gwendolyn C. "Gwen" (King) Cassidy, 72, of Camby, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2017. She was born on February 10, 1945 in Blackey, KY to the late Irvin King and Gertrude (Dixon) Prater. She graduated from Danville High School in Illinois in 1963. She married Thomas W. Cassidy on June 1, 1963.

Gwen enjoyed shopping, especially at Macy's with friends and family. She loved trips to the casino. She loved cooking for family, especially those special Sunday dinners. Gwen was an avid IU Basketball fan and dearly loved the NCAA March Madness tournament.

Gwen is survived by a loving daughter, Brenda K. (Brett) Bailey of Mooresville; a loving son, Thomas R. (Sherry Potts) Cassidy of Camby; two grandchildren, Brad and Cody Cassidy; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert King. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years who just passed away on September 5, 2017; two grandchildren, Tyler H. Cassidy and Bethany K. Bailey.

The family would like to celebrate the lives of both Gwen and Thomas with calling hours on Sunday, November 19th from 2-6 p.m. and on Monday, November 20th from 10-11 a.m. in Jones Crossing Banquet Center, next door to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Pastor Daniel Watkins will officiate Gwen and Thomas's celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 20th in Jones Crossing Banquet Center. Gwen and Thomas will be laid to rest together in West Newton Cemetery in Indianapolis.
