Guy Herbert Anderson, Age 91, of Mooresville, Indiana passed away at home on June 16, 2013. He was born July 9, 1921 in Marrowbone, Kentucky to Floyd and Maud Anderson. He married Helen Joyce Smith of Summershade Kentucky December 24, 1946. Guy went into the Civil Conservation Corps until the outbreak of WWII. He then served in the U.S. Army as a PFC with the 84th Infantry Division Signal Corps. He traveled to England aboard the Queen Mary. He participated in the D-Day invasion at Normandy, the Liberation of Paris, and the Battle of the Bulge before being wounded. He earned 2 Purple Hearts and 2 Bronze Stars. Guy worked as a farmer and a logger before working as an Inspector at Chevrolet/GM Truck & Bus in Indianapolis. He retired after 38 years in 1990. Guy enjoyed fishing, yard sales, watching baseball & westerns on TV, and feeding the birds and squirrels. He was also a member of VFW Post 1111 in Mooresville. Guy was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and four sisters. He is survived by his wife Helen Joyce (Smith) Anderson; sister Gertha (Anderson) Fudge; children Ronnie (Debbie) Anderson, Teresa (George) Quinn, and Brian (Heather) Anderson; grandchildren Ronnie Anderson Jr., Jason Anderson, and Cameron Anderson; 2 step grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; And 5 step great-grandchildren. Family and friends may attend calling hours from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013 and 9-10 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. George Watkins will officiate the 10 a.m. celebration of life service on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Guy will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville, IN. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Churches in Mission at 27 S Indiana St. Mooresville, IN 46158.
