Gordon Lee Handley, 93, of Monrovia, IN died November 14, 2004. He was born November 5, 1911 to the late Herman Hadley and Sarah (Hubbard) Hadley Johnson. He married Martha Hunter October 4, 1934. He was a 1929 Monrovia High School Graduate. He was a Birth Right Member of West Union Friends Meeting in Monrovia, IN. He was a 50 year Monrovia Masonic Lodge Member and a Charter Member of Monrovia Football Father. Mr. Hadley was a charter member of the Monrovia Fire Department. He drove a truck for Jackson Trucking in Indianapolis, IN for 6 years. He was also a lifetime Farmer and had also drove a bus for Greyhound in Indianapolis, IN for 12 years. He was the Owner-Operator of Hadley & Hinshaw Tile Ditching in Monrovia, IN for 25 years.
He is survived by Wife: Martha (hunter) Hadley of Monrovia, IN; 2 Sons: Stephen A. Hadley of Plainfield, IN; Dean C. Hadley of Monrovia, IN; 1 Daughter: Holly Lee of Monrovia, IN; 14 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister: Carol Rutledge of MI; He is preceded in death by 1 Son: David D. Hadley; 1 Great Granddaughter: Jessica Lee; 1 Brother: Arnold Hadley; 1 Sister: Joyce Titus.
Visitation will be 2-8pm Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at Jones Family Mortuary. Funeral Services will be at 2pm Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at West Union Friends Meeting in Monrovia, IN and will be officiated by Joseph Cassady. He will be laid to rest at West Union Cemetery.
