Gordon Keith Caywood

Gordon Keith Caywood, 82, of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, October 9th, 2025. He was born March 20th, 1943 in Indianapolis to his parents Dolph and Eula Agnes (Bastin) Caywood. He married the late Janet Elaine (Howard) Caywood on March 31st, 1986.

Gordon is survived by his daughter, Beth Ann Doub of New Whiteland; one grandson, Cody Austin Richardson (Madisson Wolfe) of Bargersville.

Gordon is preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Janet Elaine Caywood; one brother, Julian Glen Caywood; and three sisters: Wilma Jean Bastin, Phyllis Joann Stewart, and Frances Voorheis.

Gordon, a proud attendee of Martinsville High School, dedicated 25 years of hard work as a laborer for General Motors in Indianapolis. He was a member of the National Street Rod Association, the Indiana Street Rod Association, and the Road Agents Car Club. He pursued his passion for building and working on old cars, finding joy in cruising around in his street rods. His love for family, friends, and dogs was evident in every moment they shared. A true embodiment of a strong work ethic, Gordon thrived in his yard and embraced the beauty of the outdoors, finding fulfillment in planting his beloved tomato garden.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 11am to 1 pm on Tuesday, October 14th at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. Pastor Jim Taylor will be officiating a celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm following visitation at the funeral home. Gordon will be laid to rest at Mooresville Cemetery in Mooresville.
