Geraldine "Jerry" McGowen, 79, Camby, IN, died on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Geraldine was born to William Harrison Thompson & Stella Elizabeth (Blake) Thompson on August 14, 1932 in Spencer, IN. Geraldine married Fred R. "Pat" McGowen on January 15, 1954. Gerladine worked for Western Electric and was a local business owner. She was also a wife, mom, grandma and homemaker. She enjoyed playing Keno, painting, putting puzzles together, watching and feeding birds and flower gardening. She has lived in the Mooresville/Camby, IN area since 1968 and also lived 30 years in Indianapolis, IN. Geraldine is survived by 2 sons, Fred R. (Patty) McGowen Jr. of Camby, IN & Frank P. (Beth) McGowen of Camby, IN; 5 grandchildren, Anna Warmouth, Jason (Jamey Murphy) McGowen, Joseph (Samia) McGowen, Nate Urban & Nicholas McGowen; and 1 great grandson, Craig Short. Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, William Harrison Thompson & Stella Elizabeth (Blake) Thompson; husband, Fred R. "Pat" McGowen; daughter, Linda LaVullis and 7 siblings, William Thompson Jr., Robert Thompson, Clara Kern, Alice Blackburn, Pearl Galloway, Blanche May Thompson & Daniel Thompson. Calling will be from 11-1pm, Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Martha Waas will officiate the 1pm funeral service on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary. Geraldine will be laid to rest in East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown, IN.
