Gerald W Nay

Gerald W Nay, 83, of Avon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27th, 2020, with his wife by his side. He was born March 14th, 1937, in Deputy, Indiana, to his parents John Howard Nay and Esther (Renschler) DeYoung. He married his first wife, Martha Y. (Loehr) Nay on August 24th, 1956. Gary later went on to marry his current wife, Barbara (Morris) Nay on December 23rd, 2000. Gary grew up in Madison, Indiana, but most of his life, he was a resident of Mooresville and Avon. Gary is survived by his loving wife of nearly 20 years, Barbara (Morris) Nay of Avon; four children: Joe (Beverly) Nay of Camby, Carla (Gerry) Crafton of Brazil, Rhonda (Neal) Hauser of Illinois and Lisa (Don) Reichard of Florida; two step daughters: Lisa (Bill) Hoerger of Indianapolis and Denise (Lance) Hamblen of Speedway; 12 grandchildren: Brian and David Nay, Brock and Benjamin Crafton, Bethany Berrong, Emily Normile, Brad, Dan and Allison Hauser, Andrew and Alexander Reichard, and Elissa Davis; two step grandchildren: Samantha and Will Hoerger; and 19 great grandchildren. Gary is preceded in death by both of his parents; his first wife, Martha Y. Nay; one brother, Howard Neal; one sister, Judy Chun; and one granddaughter, Anne Hauser. Gary was a 1955 graduate of Clayton High School. He worked at Merchandise Warehouse for about 30 years before retiring in 1999. Gary was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church in Indianapolis. He enjoyed keeping his yard looking great and was also a great handyman. Gary loved going to his grandchildren's activities. Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, October 1st and from 10 to 11 am on Friday, October 2nd at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Gary's son in law, Neal Hauser will officiate a celebration of life service at 11 am on Friday, October 2nd at the funeral home. Gary will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
