George Smith

George "G.I." I. Smith, 82 years of age passed away Friday, November 13, 2009. He was born September 2, 1927 in Barboursville, KY to the late Henry Tyler and Margaret (Bruner) Smith. G.I. married Juanita (Sowders) Smith on July 5, 1947. G.I has lived in Mooresville, IN for most of his life. He was a Musician and played the fiddle to blue grass music. He was a self employed Masonary Contractor for G.I. Smith Masonary Contracting in Mooresville, IN for 50 years. He is survived by his Wife, Juanita (Sowders) Smith of Martinsville, IN; 5 Children: George I. (Judy) Smith Jr. of Whiteland, IN, Charles C. (Kathleen) Smith of Martinsville, IN, Bonnie S. (Steve) Ralls of Greenwood, IN, Ronnie L. (Pam) Smith of Acton, IN, and Samuel S. (Angie) Smith of Paragon, IN; Several Grandchildren; Several Great Grandchildren; and 6 Sisters: Dorothy Lawless of TN, Lois Andrews of AL, Hanna Faye Smith of Carmel, IN, Lydia Harley of SC, Troy Moore of OH, and Nell Chassereau of SC. He is also preceded in death by 1 Brother, Paul F. Smith. Calling hours for G.I. will be 4-8pm, Thursday, November 19, 2009 and from 9-10am, Friday, November 20, 2009 all at Jones Family Mortuary. The Funeral will be at 10am, Friday, November 20, 2009 at Jones Family Mortuary. Wayne Grace will officiate the service and G.I. will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery.
