George H. Daffron, 87, of Camby, passed away Tuesday, October 17th, 2023. He was born May 2nd, 1936 in Hazelton, Indiana to his parents Samuel A. Daffron and Alice (Lewis) Cato. He married Linda L. (Ross) Daffron on June 1st, 1957.
George is survived by his wife Linda L. Daffron of Camby; four children: Steven Daffron "Mike" (Penny) of Patricksburg, Brian Keith Daffron of Camby, Stacy Leigh Skaggs (Michael) of Mooresville, and Jason Alan Daffron; eight grandchildren: Mike, Nickole, Heather, Ethan, Jessica, Kelley, Sam, and John; and seven great grandchildren: Joshua, Eli, Leah, Isaac, Dakota, Nolan, and Caden. George is preceded in death by both of his parents; Samuel A Daffron and Alice (Lewis) Cato; two brothers: Arthur and Burl Daffron; and two sisters, Pauline Conley and Ruth Hutton.
George was 1955 graduate of Mt. Olympus High School. He worked at Linkbelt for 20 years as a welder and also worked for Amtrak in Beech Grove for 21 years before retiring in 2001. George was a member of the Freemasons. He loved working on old cars, making something out of nothing. If it was broke, he fixed it. George loved his family; some things George said often were "you are as welcome as the flowers in May" and "doing pretty good for an old codger." George was a gentleman, the most polite man you would ever meet.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 12 pm to 1 pm on Saturday, October 21st at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life will be held at 1pm following visitation at the funeral home. George will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
