Obituary for Frank Morris Anderson

Frank Morris Anderson, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, age 76, of Camby, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025
He was born on April 15, 1949 (Tax Day) in Bloomington, Indiana, the eldest son of the late Pastors Robert and Dorcas Anderson of Stinesville, Indiana. Frank had three brothers and two sisters.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Rosa "Rosie" (Estor) Anderson; daughter, Catherine (Steven) Hedges; sons, Joseph (Ashli) Anderson and Gregory (Alicia) Anderson; and nine grandchildren: Coleman Hedges, Jordan (Jeremiah) Welty, Austin Anderson, Katerina Anderson, Mya Anderson, Dr. Devon Anderson, Garrett Anderson, and Miley Anderson. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Atlas, Penelope, and Crew Welty. Several Nieces and Nephews.
He is also survived by his brother, Pastor Richard (Christine) Anderson; sisters, Connie (Robert) Holt and Pastor Mary Walls; and sister-in-law, Aida Denell.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Pastors Robert and Dorcas Anderson; brothers, Timothy and James Anderson; and his granddaughter, Cameron Ashley Sydney Hedges.
A 1967 graduate of Edgewood High School, Frank grew up in the Stinesville/Gosport area, where his family served as pastors at the Stinesville Pentecostal Church. A gifted musician, he played several instruments, but the guitar was his passion. He was proud to share his musical gifts with his family and others throughout his life.
Frank proudly served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1974 during the Vietnam War. He received his training at naval bases in Michigan and California before being stationed for a year in Vietnam and three years in the Philippines. Frank worked as an engineer and diesel mechanic aboard Navy ships, tugboats, and submarines. It was in the Philippines he met the love of his life, Rosa. Together, they returned to Indiana in 1973 with their young daughter, Catherine, and son, Joseph. Their youngest son, Gregory, was born in 1979.
For over 30 years, Frank worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and Driver/Operator for Huber, Hunt & Nichols (Hunt Construction) in Indianapolis. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union Local 716.
Frank loved the outdoors—hunting, fishing, boating, camping, and riding motorcycles were among his favorite pastimes. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, musical talent, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 5-8pm, Tuesday, November 4, 2025 with additional visitation from 1-2pm, Wednesday, November 5th at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville, IN. The celebration of life service will take place on Wednesday following the visitation at 2pm at the Funeral Home. Frank will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
All are welcome to join the family following the committal service at the cemetery for a bereavement meal at Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #86, 1525 Shelby Street, Indianapolis, IN 46203
