Forrest H. Wheeler, 85, of Mooresville, passed away Friday, November 20th, 2020. He was born August 6th, 1935 in Susanville, California to his parents Lee E. and Helen L. (Halbrook) Wheeler. He married Lois A. (Turner) Wheeler on June 3rd, 1961. He was born and raised in Susanville, California. Forrest is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lois A. (Turner) Wheeler of Mooresville; two children: Jana (Brian) Maurer of Mooresville and Michael H. (Mary) Wheeler of Zionsville; 2 grandchildren: Paul and Carolyn Wheeler; and one brother, Dean Wheeler. Forrest is preceded in death by both of his parents. Forrest was a 1953 graduate of Lassen County High School. He was a Army Veteran and later on obtained his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from California Berkley. He worked as a Estimator for road construction for several different companies around the Indianapolis area for 40 years. He worked on the Indianapolis Public Library, Indianapolis Zoo, Hoosier Dome, Indianapolis Interstate System, and the Historical Society. Forrest enjoyed gardening, working outdoors and do it yourself projects. He was a very generous, caring man that loved his family dearly. Family and friends may show their love and support from 1 to 2 pm on Tuesday, November 24th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm following visitation at the funeral home. Forrest will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
