Florence Scharbrough

Florence "Jean" Scharbrough, 81, Monrovia, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021. She was born June 6, 1939 in Indianapolis to the late James and Wilma (Hawkins) Scaggs, where she lived for 27 years. She married the late Arthur J. "Art" Scharbrough on December 16, 1957. Jean was a previous resident of Mooresville from 1966-1979 and has since resided in Monrovia. Jean is survived by her three children: Daniel (Jennifer) Scharbrough, Dennis Lee Scharbrough, and Lisa Ann (Steve) Maxwell; six grandchildren: Emily, Abigail, Amy, Heather, Peter, and Sean; and many wonderful great grandchildren that Jean dearly loved. She is also survived by three brothers: Donald, James, and William Scaggs. Jean is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Arthur "Art" Scharbrough; one sister Barbara Quinlan; and two brothers Lloyd and Paul Scaggs. Jean was a 1957 graduate of Harry E. Wood High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved fishing, mushroom hunting, and all things outdoors. Jean was known as a very kind and generous person. Family and friends may show their love and support at 3 pm Thursday May 13th at a graveside service held at Mt. Pleasant at Hall Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. Arrangements were entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jean's memory to your favorite charity.
