Flora Merritt

Flora J. Merritt, 84 years of age passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010. She was born September 22, 1925 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Howard and Ida (Schoolcraft) Losh. She married the late Archie Merritt on April 30, 1945. Flora was a lifetime resident of Indianapolis, IN and was also a 1943 Decatur Central High School Graduate. She was a member of the St. Stephens Lutheran Church. Before retiring in 2003, she was a Greeter for Sam's Club for 5 years. Previously, she worked for International Village, Stokely Van Camp, and Decatur Township Schools as a Cafeteria worker. She is survived by 1 Daughter, Joyce Merritt of Indianapolis, IN; 1 Son, Tom Merritt of Avon, IN; 7 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Brother, Thomas Losh of Indianapolis, IN. She is also preceded in death by 1 Son, Terry Merritt. There will be calling hours for Flora from 4-7pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Jones Family Mortuary. There will be a Memorial Service to follow at 7pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. She will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
