Flora Lyons

Flora Hazel Lyons, 70 of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Thursday, December 13, 2007. She was born December 22, 1936 in London, KY to the late Chester Gaines and Thena (Minton) Gaines. Flora married Douglas R. Lyons of Tompkinsville, KY on December 26, 1953. Flora has lived in Tompkinsville, KY for 16 years and in Mooresville, IN for 35 years. She was a member of Rock Bridge Baptist Church in Tompkinsville, KY. She was a Spot Welder for Harper J. Ransburg Co. in Indianapolis, IN for 15 years. Flora was survived by her Husband, Douglas R. Lyons of Tompkinsville, KY; 4 Children: Paul Douglas (Debbie) Lyons of Mooresville, IN, Bobby Joe (Stephanie) Lyons of Mooresville, NC, Terry Reed Lyons of Monrovia, IN, and Brian Scott Lyons of Mooresville, IN; 10 Grandchildren: Deann Lyons, Amy (David) Russell, Shannon, Paul Jr., Torey, Tipton, Cecilia, Canaan, Greyson, and Cael Lyons; 3 Great Grandchildren; 3 Brothers: Chester Eugene Gaines of MI, Bill and Leroy Moore of London, KY; 2 Sisters, Mary Boggs of London, KY and Sylvia Dean of OH. Flora is also preceded in death by 1 Brother, James Gaines; and 3 Sisters: Wiladean Neeley, Bessie Rednour, and Ted Boxell. There will be calling hours for Flora from 4-8pm, Friday, December 14, 2007 at Jones Family Mortuary. There will also be calling hours from 11-1pm, Monday, December 17, 2007 at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. The funeral service will be at 1pm, Monday, December 17, 2007 at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Gary Emberton will officiate the service and Flora will be laid to rest at Old Mt. Herman Cemetery in Tompkinsville, KY. Memorial Contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
