Fern Short

Fern Short, 73, of Mooresville, IN, died on May 9, 2011. Fern was born to William & Emma (Inabnitt) Raney on August 23, 1937 in Staab, KY. She married Larry Short Jr. on September 9, 1961. She was a Homemaker. She graduated from Manuel High School in 1955. She was a member of the Waverly Baptist Church. She loved bowling and photography. She also enjoyed Bible study. She lived in her birthplace of Staab, KY for 13 years, Indianapolis, IN for 9 years and Mooresville, IN since 1961. Fern is survived by her husband, Larry Short Jr. of Mooresville, IN; 3 children, Paula (Jeff) Rigsby of Brown County, IN, Kenneth Short of KY & Luke (Amanda) Short of Mooresville, IN; 3 grandchildren, Robby, Danielle & Keegan Short; 1 great grandson, Jzeckha Parker; 3 sisters, Hilda Creamer, Gene Mayfield & Wilda Simpson, all of KY. Calling hours will be from 4-8pm, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary. David Ball will officiate the 11am funeral service on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Waverly Baptist Church, where there will also be 1 hour of calling prior to the start of the funeral. Fern will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or Waverly Baptist Church.
