Eugene Farmer, 85, of Indianapolis, IN passed away January 20, 2006. He was born in Martinsville October 26, 1920 to the late Emmett and Josephine (Caldwell) Farmer. He was married to Dorothy (Saxe) Taylor-Farmer in 1973. He lived in Indianapolis-Camby for most of his life.
He was an Owner and operator for Capital Oil in Camby, IN for 50 years and retired in 1972. He was a member of the Indianapolis Petroleum Club and an Amateur Baseball Player for Capital Oil in the IABA for years.
He is survived by 6 children: Sandy Filiporuch of Indianapolis, Jef Farmer of Camby, Charles David Farmer of Indianapolis, Cindy Moore of Indianapolis, Bruce Alan Farmer of Indianapolis, and Ralph Farmer of Greenwood; 7 step children: Marvin Taylor, Sondra Smith, Jerry Taylor, Jackie Young, Terry Taylor, Tammy Giles, and Kim Murphy; 36 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Marjorie (James) Power of NC.
Calling hours for Eugene are 4-8pm, Sunday, January 22, 2006 at Jones Family Mortuary with the funeral at 11 am Monday, January 23, 2006. Charles Paxton will be officiating the service. He will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery.
