Estel J. Wilcher, 85, of Mooresville, IN passed away June 20, 2006. He was born August 16, 1920 in Casey County, KY, to the late Henry Clay and DeLettie (Neeves) Wilcher. He was married to Mabel Evelyn (Lee) Wilcher of Mooresville on July 2, 1949.
Estel has lived in Mooresville since 1953 and was formerly of Hustonville, KY for 20 years.He was also a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Mooresville Church of God and was a member of the Mooresville American Legion. Estel was an Iron Worker and a Welder for American Hoist and Derrick (Formerly Hetherton and Berner) for 29 years, retiring in 1973.
He is survived by: his Wife, Mabel; 2 Children: Karen Rogers of Mooresville, IN, Michael Wilcher of Mooresville, IN; 3 Grandchildren: Lora and Eric Rogers of Mooresville and Michael J. Wilcher of Mooresville, IN; 2 Great Grandchildren: Chelsea Guernsey and Makenzie Rogers; 2 Brothers: Arnold Wilcher of Hustonville, KY and David Clay Wilcher of Hustonville, KY; 2 Sisters: Mae Snow of Hustonville, KY and Mary Strother of Moreland, KY. Estel is preceded in death by: 1 Son, Jeffrey Alan Wilcher; 1 Sister, Ava Marie Wilcher; 2 Brothers: Cleve Wilcher and Infant Wilcher.
Calling hours will be from 4-8pm, Wednesday, June 21, 2006 and the Funeral will be at 10am, Thursday, June 22, 2006. Both will be held at JONES FAMILY MORTUARY. Joshua Brandt will be officiating the service. He will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery.
