Ermel Lee Strait

Ermel Lee Strait, 84, of Clayton, passed away Thursday, September 19th, 2024. He was born August 1st, 1940 in Jasonville to his parents Jasper Strait and Prisilla (Burkes) Buck, where he resided for 20 years. He married Theresa (Gidcumb) Strait on January 24th, 1994. He was a previous resident of Brown County for 20 years and a resident of Clayton for the last 30 years.

Ermel is survived by his wife, Theresa Strait of Clayton; three children: Jasper (Robin) Strait of Indianapolis, Jerry Strait of Stilesville, and Joshua Strait of Clayton; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and five sisters: Janet Larson, Monna Sue Brown, Tressa Kissee, Drenda Buck, and Ginger McGuire.

Ermel is preceded in death by both of his parents; and two daughters: Juanita Schmidt and Nancy Strait.

Ermel was a Machinist for Switzer Machine Shop in Indianapolis for 15 years and also worked at Roselyn Bakery for 10 years. Ermel enjoyed fishing and working with model trains.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
