Elza Lee Shields, 76, of Zephyrhills, FL passed away Wednesday, September, 6, 2006. He was born March 1, 1930 in Bloomington, IN to the late Elza and Mary Ann (May) Shields. He was married January 3, 1948 to Juanita K. (Kinser) Shields of Mooresville, IN.
Elza lived in Florida for 11 years and previously in Bloomington for 21 years and in Mooresville for most of his life. He attended Gasburg Baptist Church, was a member of the Monrovia Masonic Lodge #654, Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine, he is a past Patron of the Monrovia Order of the Eastern Star #680. Before retiring in 1986, he worked as a Grinder Operator/Crib Attendant at General Motors (Allisons) in Indianapolis for 31 years.
Elza is survived by his Wife, Juanita K. Shields of Zephyrhills, FL; 3 Children: Dennis Lee Shields of Mooresville, Debbie Lynn Terhune of Fillmore, IN, and Dirk Allen Shields of Mooresville; 11 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters: Grace Clark of Bloomington, IN and Belle Deckard of Florida. He was preceded in death by 1 Son, Danny K. Shields;2 Brothers: James Elmer Shields and Orville E. Shields; 4 Sisters: Charlotte Swift, Betty Crane, Wilma Wilbur, and Freda Clark.
Calling hours will be from 2-7pm, Sunday September 10, 2006 with an 11am Funeral on Monday, September 11, 2006 both at JONES FAMILY MORTUARY. Jack Elliot will be officiating the service. Elza Lee will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Hall. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
