Ella Hill

Ella V. Hill, 93 years of age passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009. She was born June 14, 1916 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Walter and Lillian (Crawford) Herndon. She married the late Thomas Bradley Hill Sr. on October 9. 1937. Ella lived in Mooresville, IN for 49 years and in Indianapolis, IN for 44 years. She was a member of the Brooklyn Church of God and the Missionary Ladies at Brooklyn Church of God. Before retiring in 1986, she was a receptionist for 20 years at Kendrick Hospital in Mooresville, IN. Later, she worked as a bus monitor for Mooresville Consolidated School Corporation for 16 years, retiring in 2003. Ella is survived by 1 Son, Thomas B. (Christine) Hill Jr; 4 Daughters: Sharon (Raymond) Byrne, Gloria Jean (Loren) Culver, Connie (Bradley) Bradberry, and Bonnie (Terry) Woods; Chosen Child, Kim Walls; 20 Grandchildren; 26 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchildren; and 1 Sister, Myrtle Collicot. She is also preceded in death by 1 Brother, Gilbert Herndon and 3 Sisters: Virgie Young, Montzell, and Louise Rigdon. Calling hours for Ella will be from 3-8pm, Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center, next to Jones Family Mortuary and from 10-11am, Monday, October 12, 2009 at Brooklyn Church of God. The Funeral will be at 11am, Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Brooklyn Church of God in Brooklyn, IN. Pastor Raymond Byrne, Rev. Willis Howard, and Brother Allen Kirk will officiate the service and Ella will be laid to rest at Mooresville Cemetery in Mooresville, IN.
