Elizabeth (Betty) Rogers, 83, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Saturday, November 18, 2006. She was born December 8, 1922 in Spiceland, IN to the late Everett and Louise (Willis) Pennington. She married the late John R. Rogers on April 15, 1944. Elizabeth lived in Indianapolis for 2 years, Ft. Wayne, IN for 20 years, Carmel, IN for 20 years, Spencer, IN for 30 years, and West Newton, IN for 12 years. She was a 1940 graduate of Ft. Wayne Northside High School and 1944 graduate of Earlham College. She attended the West Newton Friends Meeting Church, was a member of The Book Lovers Club, she was a 4H Leader for 10 years in Owen County, Past Chairman of the Spencer Apple Butter Festival, member of the Spencer Lions Club, and she was very active in Spinning and Weaving Crafts. She was a homemaker and was also a Guide at Conner Prairie in Noblesville, IN for 6 years. Elizabeth was survived by 7 Children: John A. Rogers of Jamestown, IN, Gary L. Rogers of Mooresville, IN, Christy Wampler of Bass Lake, IN, Wendy Pallman of Carmel, IN, Mark E. Rogers of Spencer, IN, Douglas B. Rogers of Long Eddy, NY, and Amy Paddock of Middletown, OH; 17 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Sister, Evelyn Smith of Ft. Wayne, IN. Calling hours for Elizabeth are from 12noon-2pm, Wednesday, November 22, 2006 and the funeral is at 2pm, Wednesday, November 22, 2006 both at West Newton Friends Meeting- 6800 South Mooresville Rd. Indianapolis,IN. Sylvia Graves will conduct the services and Elizabeth will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the John R. and Elizabeth P. Rogers Fund at Owen County Community Foundation - P.O. Box 503 Spencer, IN 47460.
