Edward P. Carter, 51 of Bradenton, Florida passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2008. He was born August 25, 1957 in Flint, Michigan to Charlotte F. (Haun) Carter and the late James P. Carter. Edward married Denise A. (Ransdell) Carter on June 9, 2001.
He has lived in Sarasota/Bradenton, FL since 1986; Mooresville, IN for 14 years; Coatsville, IN for 4 years; Indianapolis, IN for 10 years; and in Flint, Michigan for 1 year. He attended Mooresville High School and Graduated from North Putnam High School in 1975. He loved fishing and camping. He was an avid Nascar and football fan and loved to play the guitar. Edward was an Owner/Operator/Subcontractor for his own kitchen and bath company from 1998-2008 in Bradenton, FL before retiring in 2008. Previously, he was a machinist from 1975-1997.
Edward is survived by his Wife, Denise Carter of Bradenton, Fl; 2 Sons, Kris Carter of Indianapolis, IN and John Carter of Sarasota, FL; 2 Step-Daughters, Sara Vaught of Bradenton, Fl and Stephanie Vaught of Bradenton, FL; Mother, Charlotte Carter of Mooresville, IN; Sister, Rhonda Eaton of Plainfield, IN; 2 Brothers, Ron Carter of Mooresville, IN and Barry Carter of Mooresville, IN; and Inlaws, Wayne and Becky Ransdell of Florida. He is also preceded in death by 1 Son, Michael Carter; 1 Brother, Terry Sharpe, and 1 Nephew, Kevin Sharpe.
Calling hours for Edward will be from 4-8pm, Friday, December 19, 2008 and also from 10-11am, Saturday, December 20, 2008. The funeral will be at 11am, Saturday, December 20, 2008 with Brother Lyman Taylor to officiate. Edward will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, IN. There will also be a Memorial Service in Sarasota, FL on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 2pm at the Siesta Key Chapel. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Organizations and Boyscouts of America.
