Edith R. Wright

Edith R. (Merriman) Wright, 82, of Mooresville, passed away Monday, February 14th, 2022. She was born February 4th, 1940 in Columbus, Indiana to her parents, Charles A. and Bessie M. (Earles) Merriman. She married Donald K. Wright on May 29th, 1957. She was a resident of Mooresville for most of her life. Edith is survived by her loving husband of nearly 65 years, Donald K. Wright of Mooresville; three children: Vicki L. Wright of Mooresville, Roe Wright of Indianapolis, and Marcia B. (Mike) Duke of Bargersville; four grandchildren: Jake, Zach, Isaac Duke, and Hannah Hardin; and 12 great grandchildren: Malia, Ari, Natalie, Isabella, Esther, Judah, Zira, Vera, Ivan, J.J., Asher, and Wren. Edith is preceded in death by both of her parents; four sisters: Charlotte Stone, Carolyn Turner, Janette David, and Linda McKinney; and two brothers: Eugene Merriman and Danny Merriman. Edith was a Cafeteria Worker at Neil Armstrong for five years. She also was a Gift Shop Clerk for Paradies Lagardère at the Indianapolis International Airport. Although she was there for just a short time, she was awarded employee of the month. Edith also worked for the Indiana Department of Revenue for three years. Edith was a member of Lifeline Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edith was known as the queen of garage sales as she frequented them often. Family and friends may show their love and support from 3 to 7 pm on Tuesday, February 22nd and from 10 to 11 am on Wednesday, February 23rd at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A Celebration of life service will be held at 11 am following visitation on Wednesday, February 23rd at the funeral home. Edith will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville. There will be a luncheon served immediately following the burial at Lifeline Baptist Church and the family would like to share that all are welcome.
