Douglas Jay Hobbs, 62, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday, February 8th, 2022. He was born March 24th, 1959 in Indianapolis to his parents, Dr. Paul Brooks and Barbara Ann (Bray) Hobbs. Doug is survived by his brother, Gregory K. (Ann) Hobbs of Ocala, Florida and two nieces: Kristin McDonald and Shannon Hobbs. Doug is preceded in death by both of his parents and Philip Hobbs and Larry Hobbs. Doug was a 1979 graduate of Mooresville High School. He later on enlisted in the United States Army and discharged in 1986 as a Specialist 4th Class. Doug was Self-Employed as a Heat and Air Technician in Bloomington for the last five years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #103. Doug had a passion for fast cars. Most people would describe him as a loving and honest brother and a great uncle. Family and friends may show their love and support for a memorial gathering from 12 (noon) to 1 pm on Wednesday, February 16th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 1pm following visitation at the funeral home. Doug will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
