Dorothy Ruby White

Dorothy "Ruby" (Shaw) White, 99, of Camby, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Ruby was born on July 22, 1918 to the late William Ared and Jessie Dell (Brown) Shaw in Parke County, Indiana. She married the late Glen C. White on February 7, 1935.

Ruby lived her last 54 years in Camby, IN and previously in Indianapolis, IN for 21 years and Greencastle, IN for 24 years. She was a proud homemaker; enjoyed gardening; working on quilts and doing patchwork along with embroidery; and most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Ruby is survived by three children: Barbara Dell Van Hook-Ramos of Bloomington, IN, Sherman Cordell (Sandy) White of Coatesville, IN, and Cynthia "Pinky" May (Larry) Stewart of Camby, IN; 10 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; husband, one grandson, Glen Curtis White; one brother, Ralph Eugene Shaw, and four sisters; Flossie Nelson, Ruth Spellman, Inez Rhea, and Lorene Griffin.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 and from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Billy Gott will officiate the Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Funeral Home. Ruby will be laid to rest in Memory Gardens in Rockville, IN.
