Dorothy I. Lane, 93, of Camby, passed away Monday, March 28th, 2022. She was born April 12th, 1928 in Beech Grove to her parents, Virgil and Bessie (Skaggs) Mason. Dorothy married Thomas R. Lane on March 17th, 1948. They were married for 63 years. She was a resident of Mooresville and Monrovia area for most of her life. Dorothy is survived by her two daughters: Sandra (Dan) Shaffer of Indianapolis and Marla Luedeman of Camby; four grandchildren: Amanda J. (Kyle) Farmer, Matthew (Caitlyn), Bonnie (Silverio) Panlasigui, and Christy (Kin) Chan; four great grandchildren: Trent and Jamie Farmer; Levi, and Selah Panlasigui; two step grandchildren: Jake and Daniel Shaffer; one brother: Paul "Moose" Mason; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by both of her parents; step mother, Della Mason; four brothers: Arthur Mason, Floyd "Red" Mason, Harry Mason, and Maurice Mason and; two sisters, Martha Pauley and Mary "Mag" Cherry. Dorothy worked at Gray's in Mooresville before she married. She attended Centenary Methodist Church as a teenager and as a family they attended Brooklyn Nazarene Church, Willow Grove Nazarene Church and Monrovia Nazarene Church. She was a Sunday School Teacher and head of the Missionary Society and church treasurer for many years. Dorothy had many hobbies and loved to cook, read, sew, crotchet, quilting, embroidery, make wedding cakes, helping Tom in his wood-shop making cabinets, tables, etc. Family and friends may show their love and support from 11 am 12pm (noon) on Friday, April 1st at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Rev. Steve Lane and Matthew Hanson will officiate a celebration of life service following visitation at 12 pm (noon) on Friday, April 1st at the funeral home. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Tom at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
