Doris A Jones

Doris A. (Weston) Jones, 82, of Plainfield, passed away Thursday, February 8th, 2024. She was born October 25th, 1941 in Pennington Gap, Virginia to her parents Walter and Ella Kate (Belcher) Weston. She married the late Norman L. Jones on August 12th, 1961.

Doris is survived by her two daughters: Lori Byrd-Trinkle (Todd) of Mooresville and Lisa Dorsett (Eden) of Camby; three grandchildren: Emily Summey (Gary), Katelyn Mylcraine (Tyler), and Shelby Dorsett; two bonus grandchildren: Landon and Madelyn Trinkle; and one brother. Marvin Weston of Cloverdale. Doris is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Norman L. Jones; one brother, Chester Weston; one sister, Jeanette Ingle; and one son in-law, Brian Byrd.

Doris was a graduate of George Washington High School in Indianapolis. She was a Homemaker. Doris was a charter member of Free Spirit Baptist Church in Indianapolis for over 30 years. She loved singing and going to church. Doris loved attending craft shows, spending time with family and grandchildren. During her younger years, she loved flower and vegetable gardening.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, February 12th and from 12 to 1 pm on Tuesday, February 13th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, February 13th following visitation at the Funeral Home. Doris will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
