Donna M. Sturm

Donna M. (Smith) Sturm, 67, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 10, 2021. She was born in Highland Park, MI on February 17, 1953 to the late Lyndon K. and Patricia L. (Pollock) Smith. Donna was a 1971 graduate of Mooresville High School; she worked in Human Resources for the State for 30 years before retiring in 2008 and was past member of Mooresville Order of Eastern Star #78. She loved spending time with her family and her friend group known as the 'Slugs' and was described by many as a very caring woman with a great personality and a beautiful smile. Donna is survived by her two sons: Brian (Cathy) Sturm of Avon and Bradley 'Bubba' (Mary Ann) Sturm of Greenwood; five grandchildren: Trey, Trystan, Travis, Jordan and Brayden; two brothers: David Smith of TN and Karl Smith of Plainfield and two sisters: Karen Smith of Mooresville and Joyce Fluke of Indianapolis. Donna is preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life, Kenneth W. Sturm. Family and friends may show their love and support from 11 am to 1 pm on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Lt. Jerry Bessler and son, Brian Sturm will officiate the celebration of life service immediately following the visitation at 1 pm in the funeral home. Donna will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Donna to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Indianapolis Affiliate, P.O. Box 6069 Department 95, Indianapolis, IN 46206-6069. With the new instructions issued by the State allowing gatherings up to 50 people, we welcome friends to pay respects while continuing to follow social distancing guidelines and proper mask wearing.
