Donald Wallace Koch

Donald Wallace "Don" Koch, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on January 2, 1952, in Springville, New York to his parents Charles Henry and Barbara H. (Howard) Koch, Don spent his life bringing joy and laughter to everyone he encountered. He met the love of his life, Rebecca Lynn "Becky" (Beets) Koch, at a Marathon gas station and they got married on April 24, 1978.

A graduate of Ben Davis High School, Don dedicated 29 years of his life to Mears Machine in Avon, where he worked as a tool and dye maker. He was known not only for his skill and dedication in the manufacturing industry but also for his integrity and sense of humor-qualities that left a lasting impression on his colleagues and friends.

Don was a devoted member of Westbrook Church of the Nazarene. He found great joy in serving as a Sunday school bus driver and assisting with various church activities. His faith profoundly shaped his values and guided his actions, and he instilled those same beliefs in his family.

An avid fisherman, Don cherished moments spent on his boat, surrounded by nature and the company of loved ones. Above all, he treasured his time with family and was a loyal man.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Becky (Beets) Koch, his son Eric Koch (Letitia) of Parker City, Indiana, his daughters Candice "Candi" Terrell (Doug) of Patricksburg, Indiana and Paige Hodge (Jeff) of Plainfield, Indiana. His 8 grandchildren: Damon, Shelby, Kelsea, Harlee, Justin, Cody, Lanie and Justice as well as 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Edward Koch (Debbie) of Greenfield, Indiana and his sister Marion Narvell of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became as well as two sisters Barbara Lehmann and Catherine Gilbert.

His family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Don's life during the funeral service at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Prior to the service, there will be a public visitation beginning from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A reception will follow at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service.
