Diane G. Steward

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Diane G. Steward, aged 73, who passed away peacefully with family by her side on September 26, 2026, in Plainfield. Born on July 6, 1953, in Indianapolis, to her parents John L. and Joanne M. (Bell) McPeak, Diane was a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and a steadfast friend to many. She married Jerry L. Steward on March 5, 1976 and the two just celebrated 50 beautiful years together.

Diane was a proud graduate of Whiteland High School, class of 1971, and dedicated 18 years of her life as a secretary at North Madison Elementary School, where she impacted countless young lives with her warmth and kindness. Her unwavering faith in the Lord guided her life, and she was an active member of Plainfield Christian Church, previously attended Camby Community Church.

Family was at the heart of Diane's existence. She found immense joy in spending time with her loving husband, Jerry L. Steward, and raised her wonderful daughters. Diane was the proud grandmother of nine precious grandchildren. Her passion for their well-being extended to attending their numerous activities, from sports to school events, always cheering them on from the sidelines.

Diane had an adventurous spirit, relishing travel, particularly to the beach where she soaked in the sun, and she cherished every moment spent outdoors exercising and enjoying nature's beauty. She will be remembered for her infectious laughter, compassionate soul, and her loving nature that touched everyone who crossed her path.

Diane is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry; her devoted daughters: Tiffany Alexander (Bruce) of Texas, Jeri Lynn Franklin (Terrell) of Plainfield, and Tina Delph (Tony) of Mooresville; her grandchildren: Brayden, Braxton, Cade, Aria, Kian, Tiarra, Tarryn, Tristyn, and Tirzah; her mother, Joanne M. McPeak of Whiteland; and her brother, Johnny L. McPeak (Becky) of Whiteland. She was preceded in death by her father, John L. McPeak.

Family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their respects during a public visitation at the Jones Crossing Banquet and Event Center in Mooresville on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on October 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the banquet center, followed by a graveside service at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
