Delbert L. Winters, 74, of Mooresville passed away April 21, 2006. He was born January 12, 1932 in Lawrenceville, ILL to the late Harry W. and Dorothy (Heath) Winters.He was married to Audrey (Franklin)Winters on February 14, 1953.
Delbert was a Diesel Mechanic for McLean Trucking in Indianapolis for 26 years and retired in 1985. He loved woodworking, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and model gas airplanes. He was in the U.S. Army (Korean War Vet) and was discharged in 1953.
He was survived by his wife, Audrey; 4 daughters: Shirley Smith of Indianapolis, Deborah Winters of Plainfield, Sandra Higginbotham of Mooresville, and Doris Tackett of Eminence; son, Jim Jeffries of Monrovia; 1 brother, Howard Winters of Illinois; 6 sisters: Vivian Smith of FL.,Pauline Eagleson of Illinois, Doris Saltsgraver of Illinois, Louise McClaskey of Illinois,Della Ditch of Illinois, and Jane Mason of FL.;9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Delbert was preceded in death by his 3 brothers: Donnie, Marvin, and Lester Winters and 1 sister, Lois Chandler.
Calling hours will be 4-8pm, Tuesday, April 25, 2006 and the funeral will be at 11am, Wednesday, April 26, 2006. Ron McDugle will be officiating the service. He will be laid to rest at Mooresville Cemetery.
