Debra Hurt

Debra S. "Debbie" Hurt, 60, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2022 with family by her side. Debbie was born in Pontiac, Michigan on November 3, 1961 to the late Charles and Mildred (Seiber) Smith. She married Dwayne Hurt on June 14, 1980. Debbie was a 1980 graduate of Ben Davis High School. She worked in Package Distribution for BalKamp GFC in Indianapolis for 15 years before retiring in 2021. Debbie was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Indianapolis. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to travel, enjoyed watching her T.V. programs, and loved experiencing new restaurants. Debbie enjoyed the holidays and loved decorating for them. Debbie is survived by her husband, Dwayne Hurt; two children, Alicia Hurt of New Palestine, IN and Josh (Mimi) Hurt of Camby; three grandchildren: Brayden Szak, Lilith Szak, and Adrian Wathen; Brother, Jeff (Jo) Smith and sister, Tracy Smith. Debbie is preceded in death by her parents. Family and friends may show their love and support from 10 am to 1 pm, Friday, July 29, 2022 at Jones Family Mortuary. Mooresville. Rev. Roosevelt Owens will officiate the celebration of life service following the visitation at 1 pm at the Funeral Home. Debbie will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
