Conley Stephen Harris

Conley Stephen "Steve" Harris, 71, of Camby, passed away on September 8, 2023. Steve was born in Indianapolis, IN on October 11, 1951 to Conley Otto and Martha Louise (Willie) Harris. He married Bobbie Carol (Crowe) Harris on March 27, 1971.

Steve was a 1970 graduate of Wood High School in Indianapolis. Following high school, Steve was drafted into the United States Army being discharged in 1973. He reenlisted and served four more years being discharged in 1977. Steve worked as a supervisor for the government at Ft. Benjamin Harrison. He enjoyed fishing and hunting at Cataract, Eagle Creek, Raccoon Lake, Morgan Monroe Forest and Dugger. He was very proud of his family and his participation in the Macy's Day Parade in 1976. He was known to be a strong man with a stubborn side.

Steve is survived by his wife, Bobbie Carol (Crowe) Harris of Camby; three children: Stephen Harris (Betty) of Jamestown, Cheri Harris of Camby and Bradley Harris (April) of Pittsboro; eight grandchildren: Stephen, Savannah, Matthew, Emma, Tyler, Jared, Ryan and Emilee and one great grandson, Guy.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly Coughlan and grandson, Luke Harris.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 12pm-1pm, Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. The celebration of life service will follow at 1pm at the Funeral Home. Steve will be laid to rest in Fairfield Cemetery in Camby.
