Clark E. Alkire, 66, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2006. He was born in Lafayette, IN on October 27, 1962 to the late Russell and Iris (Crane) Alkire. He was married to Emma (Borem) Alkire.
Clark lived in Little Point for 13 years, previously of Camby for 21 years, and Goodland, IN for 15 years. He was a 1957 Grad of Goodland H.S.. He then attended Purdue, Indianapolis extension. He also served in the Army. He was a member of the Fairfield Friends Meeting Church. He was a part of many clubs and organizations: Cloud Niners Flying Club, Indianapolis Sli Club, Indianapolis American Legion, Christmas Tree and Bramble Growers Association and the Indiana Farm Market Association. Clark has owned and operated Alkire Acres for 10 years. He also was a Construction Superintendant and Engineer for White Construction Co. in Clinton, IN for 27 years. He also had worked for H.E. Henderson Construction in Martinsville, IN and about 1 year. Clark retired in 2005.
Clark is survived by: his wife, Emma Alkire, 2 daughters: April (Bob) Stevens of Monrovia and Anita (Brad) Hickam of Avon; 5 Grandchildren: Andrew and Steven Hickam and Robby, Nicholas and Zachary Stevens; 2 Sisters: Marsha Hufty of Lafayette and Gloria Gilman of Brooklyn, IN; 1 Brother, Malvin Alkire of Kentland, IN. He was preceded in death by his Brother, Eric Alkire.
Calling hours for Clark are from 2-8pm, July 18, 2006 and one hour prior to the 11:00 service on July 19. Both are going to be held at Jones Family Mortuary. Bob Garris will be officiating the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
