It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clara P. Hynes, age 92, who left this world on May 11, 2026, in her beloved hometown of Mooresville. Born on November 10, 1933, Clara lived a full, vibrant life, dedicated to her family and the nurturing of her home. She married the late John F. Hynes on October 13, 1976.
Clara was a devoted homemaker, known for her fierce spirit and passionate nature. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: solving crossword puzzles, reading the daily newspapers, and spending cherished moments with her family. Clara's ability to speak her mind with honesty only underscored her deeply caring heart, creating a warm and welcoming environment for all who knew her.
Clara leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her ten cherished grandchildren: David, Brian, Christy, Sarah, Charles, Henry, Rachel, Kelvin, Keith, and Cole, along with 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Each of them will hold fond memories of their grandmother, whose laughter and wisdom will be missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband John Hynes, and three children: Donna Patterson, Lisa Hendrickson, and son Terry Patterson. Clara also mourns the loss of her granddaughter Stacey Hendrickson, great-grandson Rylan Hendrickson, and sister Jeanette Holmes, all of whom she held dear.
Family and friends are invited to join together in remembrance of Clara. A public visitation will take place at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service from 5:00 to 6:00 PM on May 15, 2026. A funeral service will commence at 6:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at White Lick Cemetery on May 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
Please join us in celebrating the life of Clara P. Hynes, a woman who taught us the meaning of love, resilience, and the importance of family. May she rest in peace, knowing the impact she had on those she loved and who loved her in return.
