Charles Lloyd Wade, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, November 27th, 2023. He was born January 13th, 1931 in Sullivan to his parents Charles William and Gertrude (Ryland) Wade. He married Alice Jean (Sheets) Wade on July 22nd, 1950.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Alice Jean Wade of Indianapolis; two children: Deb McWhorter (Larry) of Westfield and Ron Wade (Brenda) of Mooresville; three grandchildren: Jackson, Katie, and Brandy; and two great grandchildren: Marshall and Mackenzie. Charles is preceded in death by both of his parents; one grandson, Kyle Wade; one brother, Wilbur Wade; and two sisters: Glenora Leonzo and Belva Pemberton.
Charles was a 1949 graduate of Graysville High School in Graysville, Indiana. He later joined the United States Army serving in the Korean War and discharged in 1954. Charles was a Machine Setter for Western Electric for 35 years before retiring in 1984. He then went and worked for Hertz Rental Car for 30 years. Charles was a member of the Indianapolis American Legion Post #64 and the Indianapolis Moose Lodge #17. He enjoyed attending NASCAR races, participating in bowling leagues, camping and playing euchre. Charles was known by many as a dedicated provider and a hardworking man.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 11 am to 1 pm on Monday, December 4th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life will be held at 1 pm following visitation at the Funeral Home. Charles will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
