Charles Tate

Charles A. Tate, 62, of Camby, IN, passed away on February 10, 2019. Charles was born in Nashville, TN on May 27, 1956 to the late Allen J. Tate and Minnie Bell (Edens) Fodge. Charles married Diana "Di" (Ridner) Tate on May 28, 1976.

Charles worked in production for Earthgrains (Merico) Bakery in Indianapolis for 22 years. He then worked for Republic Services in Indianapolis as a truck driver for 18 years. Charles loved deer hunting, fishing, stock car racing, and basically anything the grand kids did - he was there.

Charles is survived by his wife of 42 years: Diana "Di" (Ridner) Tate of Camby; son, Jeremy (Michelle) Tate of Camby; daughters: Misty Villegas of Camby and Christina Miller of Avon; grandchildren: Cody, Connor and Tristan Tate, Makayla Villegas, Mya Doblado, David and Jacob Dicks; brother, Ronald E. Tate of IL; and sisters: Margaret Huff of Beech Grove and Dorothy (Daniel) Moore of Franklin. Charles is also preceded in death by his son, Charles A. Tate Fodge and sister, Margie Vargas.

Family and friends may come and show their love and support from 4-8 p.m on Thursday, February 14 and from 10 - 11 a.m. on Friday, February 15 at Jones Family Mortuary. Adam Lawson will officiate the celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 15 at the Funeral Home. Charles will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
