Charles Smith

Charles L. Smith, 75, of Indianapolis, IN, died on April 14, 2011. He was born to Clarence & Bessie (Brackett) Smith on December 1, 1935 in Pineville, KY. He married Mildred (Seiber) Smith on August 21, 1959. He was a Navy Veteran. Before retiring in 2002, he was a Machinest for Olin in Indianapolis, IN for 12 years and Stewart & Warner in Indianapolis, IN for 33 years. He founded Beulah Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN where he was an Assistant Pastor and Sunday School Teacher for the past 30 years. He lived most of his life in Indianapolis, IN and 18 years in his birthplace of Pineville, KY. He is survived by his spouse, Mildred (Seiber) Smith of Indianapolis, IN; 3 children, Debbie (Dwayne) Hurt of Indianapolis, IN, Jeff Smith of Indianapolis, IN and Tracy (Ronald Winegar) Smith of Indianapolis, IN; 5 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Bessie (Brackett) Smith and a brother, Grant Smith. Calling hours will be from 12-2pm, Monday, April 18, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary. Pastor Claude Holt will officiate the 2pm funeral on Monday, April 18, 2011. He will laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
